INSTITUTIONAL POLICIES
CAMRS-AFRICA
A governance framework aligned with African and international standards
CAMRS-AFRICA operates on the basis of clear, transparent, and internationally aligned institutional policies. These policies define how the organisation is governed, how decisions are made, how ethics and integrity are upheld, and how programmes are implemented across Africa.
They reflect CAMRS-AFRICA’s commitment to building credible, ethical, inclusive, and sustainable scientific publishing systems, while remaining firmly grounded in African institutional realities.
Why these policies matter
Scientific publishing plays a strategic role in research systems, academic credibility, and knowledge visibility. However, strong journals require more than good intentions: they require sound governance, ethical leadership, professional standards, and institutional accountability.
CAMRS-AFRICA’s Institutional Policies were developed to:
- Clarify how the organisation functions and is governed;
- Ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct;
- Align African editorial capacity-building efforts with UNESCO, World Bank, and African Union frameworks;
- Support universities, research institutions, and journal teams through clear and reliable institutional practices.
These policies do not aim to regulate or control journals. Instead, they provide a supportive framework that strengthens capacities, protects integrity, and encourages progressive institutional development.
